Women in Games is a non-profit organization established in 2009 whose goal is to promote diversity and inclusion in the video game industry by providing opportunities, resources and support for all women who want to make career in this field.

The organization also works with video game companies to promote inclusive and equitable policies and practices for women.

The aim is to raise awareness of diversity and inclusion issues in the video game industry, this encourages educators, parents and young people to explore career opportunities in the video game sector and encourage girls and women to pursue their passion in this field.

Behind the screen: Silvia Gaillard, actress in motion capture: “It is not a question of overacting but of interpreting as one does in the cinema or in the theater”

Extract :

What is the profession of motion capture actress?

The actor in motion capture is the one who will give life to the characters he embodies. He lends him not only his movements, but above all his intentions, his emotions through his game.

This work, contrary to popular belief, is not just body work or mime. It's real acting. It is not a question of overplaying but of interpreting as one does in the cinema or in the theater. Except that the technical constraints are still different, since there are around forty cameras or "sensors" installed at 360°! And that's what makes it one of the specificities! No camera looks or public face! We are free as on a huge playground! Or almost… It is then up to the director to make his choice of axes on the computer.

And then, we wear this jumpsuit and this hat with markers that allow us to capture our movements. Forbidden to cross arms, legs! It's a different constraint!
